ReStore Celebrates 5 Years!
Posted on 01/07/2008 by ReStore Staff
The Habitat ReStore marked its 5th birthday on Thursday, January 10th with a news conference attended by government officials, chamber offices, customers, donors and volunteers. |
Business and individual donors have generously filled ReStore shelves with fantastic building materials. At the ReStore's 5th Birthday, 1300 tons of solid waste had been diverted from area landfills and Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has received $215,000 as a result. What began as a cold, sparsely stocked warehouse has blossomed to a fiscally and environmentally responsible store, packed with treasures for artsy, frugal, renovating, and socially conscious shoppers from the Quad Cities and beyond. Since opening in January of 2003, at least 6 more ReStores have opened in Iowa! | |
