Before calling in the wrecking crews, building owners often give ReStore the opportunity to harvest valuable buiding materials. ReStore volunteers love the opportunity to go "treasure hunting" for the mundane or the sublime. The ReStore will provide buiding owners with proof of insurance and receipts for materials harvested.

ReStore volunteers have rescued everyday kitchen cabinets and beautiful leaded glass windows, scrap metals and one-of-a-kind grotesques from Quad City bulidings. Corbels and carpeting, slate tiles and tools, lovely crystal doorknobs and even plants have been given a second chance by a teams of harvesters from the Habitat ReStore.

Items most often harvested include doors, cabinets, windows, register covers, windows and trim.
