3 Million pounds diverted

ReStore has diverted more than 3 million pounds!
What does 3 million pounds of building products look like?
Imagine a line of 75 semis lined up on Kimberly Road stretching from Eastern Avenue to Brady Street. Imagine that these trucks are packed FULL of perfectly good sinks, cabinets, doors, tubs, windows, mirrors and hardware. Now imagine that they’re all heading to the landfill.
Since opening more than 5 years ago, the Habitat ReStore has created a wonderful “detour” for the more than 3 MILLION POUNDS of useable building materials these trucks could haul.
In our community, three million pounds of good building products have been put to use rather than put to waste through the Habitat ReStore. In the process, Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has received over $242,00 in support of their homebuilding efforts. We’d call that tons of reasons to celebrate!
During August, the ReStore will offer 3 cent sales to celebrate this milestone. Each of the following will be offered at the ReStore for only 3 cents each:
4x4 ceramic tile
all light bulbs
all light globes
